Arsenal Women have just signed the Swiss international Geraldine Reuteler, one of the Frauen-Bundesliga’s best midfielders to reinforce Renee Slegers’ team ahead of the upcoming season.
Reuteler signed a four-year deal with the Gunners after she left an Eintracht Frankfurt side at which she spent eight years.
It is also important to note that Reuteler has been playing professional football since 2014, having started her senior career at Luzern before moving to Germany in 2018.
This signing comes following two other important signings for Arsenal, as both Georgia Stanway and Selina Cerci arrived at the club in the last few days.
With these three valuable arrivals, Arsenal is looking to challenge even more seriously both for the WSL and for the UWCL.
Why Geraldine Reuteler Fits Arsenal

Throughout her spell at Frankfurt, Reuteler proved that she is a pivotal player for the German team, with 184 appearances, 54 goals, and 44 assists.
More importantly, her consistency in terms of goal contribution numbers especially in the last few seasons highlight her increased maturity and experience inside the final third.
Helping Frankfurt attain a third spot in the Frauen-Bundesliga during the 2024-2025 season and being central to their wins even during last season confirms that Reuteler is still a very competitive and useful player.
Arsenal Women are already confident in the Swiss ability to add a lot to the team’s midfield.
Whether through key passing, attacking support, defensive duties, or defensive duels that require physical strength, Reuteler’s addition in midfield will certainly be valuable to the Gunners during the next seasons.
Moreover, being a versatile midfielder who is used to playing at different positions will certainly be something very useful to Arsenal.
Reuteler will be wearing the Number 14 shirt and has already expressed her enthusiasm about joining one of England and Europe’s best teams and about playing in one of the most competitive leagues; the Women's Super League.
From Frankfurt To Arsenal: Reuteler's Next Chapter

After making her debut for the Swiss national team back in 2017, Reuteler has then reached 91 caps and 17 goals for Switzerland.
She has played for the last three UEFA Women's Euros and her role was crucial in making Switzerland reach the quarter-finals in the 2025 edition, a historic achievement for the national team.
Her excellent performances for Switzerland made her win some valuable individual trophies such as the Swiss Women's Player of the Year award in 2024 and Switzerland's Most Valuable Player award earlier this year too.
With such incredible experiences and positive performances for both her national team and her former club, Eintracht Frankfurt, Reuteler comes to Arsenal with the necessary maturity to impose her game and progressively become one of the leaders of this North London team.
That said, it will be crucial for her to adapt to the WSL quickly, knowing that staying for too long at one team in the Frauen-Bundesliga might make it a bit complicated for her to deal with the change in a smooth way.
