Who are we?

We are Striver Technologies Limited. Our full details, including how to contact us, are at the end of the policy. This is our data protection and privacy policy. It explains who we are, and why and how we process personal information. If you are the subject of any of the personal information that we process, this policy explains what rights you have, and how to get in touch with us if you wish to.

What do we do?

Striver is a football-focussed media platform that connects players, fans and professional mentors. Through our app and website, users find out the latest in development football and beyond, join squads, follow challenges set by professional footballer mentors, share content, and develop their game.

What personal information do we collect?

How we process personal information depends on the purpose for which we obtain it and the individual to whom it relates. We will normally only process personal information relating to you if:

  • If you are a user of our app.
  • If you are a squad leader on our app.
  • If you are a user of our website.
  • If you interact with us via social media.
  • If we wish to send you advertising, marketing or promotional material.
  • If you sponsor, or advertise in connection with, content on our app or website; or you work for, or otherwise represent, someone who does so.
  • If you supply goods or services; or you work for, or otherwise represent, someone who does so.

We explain our personal information processing in more detail, below, in relation to each of these categories.

If you are a user of our app

Purpose of processing

The purpose of the processing is to enable, manage, and administer the use of our app by you and the other users (including those with whom you interact while using the app).

Information we process

  • Account information: name, address; email address, username, password (hashed); profile data, including photo, age, location (optional); authentication provider IDs (Google, Apple).
  • User-generated content: photos, videos, comments, likes, squad activity; livestream recordings (where applicable).
  • Device and usage data: device type, OS, app version; IP address, browser type, crash logs; in-app activity, content views, interaction timestamps.
  • Identity verification data: date of birth, ID documents (if required); facial images or biometric data (Ondato).
  • Behaviour and engagement: interactions with features, squads, and users; information used to personalise recommendations.
  • Location data (optional): if enabled by you, we may collect your approximate location to improve content relevance (e.g. showing nearby squads or events).

Legal basis for processing

The processing is necessary: for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request to enter into such a contract; or for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We keep the personal information relating to you for as long as you are registered to use the app and to the extent necessary to enable, manage, and administer the use of the app, and then for a period of at least 6 years after which we will delete it unless it is necessary to retain it for archival purposes.

If you are a squad leader on our app

Purpose of processing

The purpose of the processing is to enable, manage, and administer the use of our app by you in the capacity of squad leader, and the other users with whom you interact while using the app in that capacity.

Information we process

In addition to the information that we process in consequence of you being a user of the app, if you are a squad leader then we also process:

  • Enhanced identity verification (full name, DOB, government-issued ID).
  • Safeguarding declarations and related information.
  • Contact details beyond email (phone, postal address) for contact in appropriate circumstances.
  • Squad-related content: squad name, description, profile imagery, member lists.
  • Banking/HMRC details.

The processing is necessary: for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request to enter into such a contract; or for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We keep the personal information relating to you for as long as you are a squad leader and to the extent necessary to enable, manage, and administer the relevant use of the app, and then for a period of at least 6 years after which we will delete it unless it is necessary to retain it for archival purposes.

If you browse our website

Purpose of processing

We may collect information on your visits to our website and how you move around different sections of our website for analytics purposes and in order to understand how people use our website so that we can make it more intuitive. We may keep a record of the content on our website that you have clicked on and use that information to target advertising on this website to you that is relevant to your interests and which we have identified based on content you have looked at. This information is set out in our cookies policy.

Your name and/or other identifier; your visits to our website; content viewed by you; links followed by you; information downloaded by you.

You have consented to the processing; or the processing is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We will keep the information for a reasonable time and then delete it.

If we interact with you on social media

Purpose of processing

If we are carrying out social media monitoring and you interact with, or mention or tag us on social media, we may process details regarding that interaction and your social media ID for the purposes of keeping ourselves informed in relation to the interaction concerned and, if appropriate, communicating with you.

Information we process

Your name (if available on the relevant social media platform); your social media ID; other information relevant to our business that you communicate via social media or another public online forum.

The processing is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We keep the personal information relating to you for as long as is necessary in order to enable us to communicate with you, after which we will delete it. Normally, we will not keep this information for more than 6 months following its collection.

If we wish to send you advertising, marketing, or promotional material

Purpose of processing

To market our app or our services to you or the person for whom you work.

Information we process

Name; contact details (email address, phone number, address); communications sent or received; whether you have consented to receive marketing communications; whether you have opted out of receiving marketing communications; information about your use of our app or website.

Legal basis for processing

You have consented to receive relevant communications; or the processing is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We will keep the personal information for a reasonable period consistent with sending you marketing communications, after which we will either confirm that you are happy for us to continue to do so, or delete it (except to the extent we need to retain it for the sole purpose of suppressing further marketing communications to you).

Sponsorship or advertising in connection with content on our app or website

Purpose of processing

To manage and administer commercial arrangements with sponsors and advertisers, including negotiating, contracting, invoicing, delivering and reporting on sponsorship or advertising campaigns; and to communicate with you in relation to those arrangements.

Information we process

Name; job title; employer; business contact details (work email, phone, address); communications sent or received; information relevant to campaign delivery and reporting.

The processing is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us.

How long we keep your data

We will keep the information for as long as necessary to facilitate the sponsorship or advertising in relation to which we are in contact with you, and then for a period of up to 6 years afterwards, after which we will normally delete it, unless it is necessary to retain it for archival purposes.

Provision of goods or services to us in relation to our business

Purpose of processing

We may process information relating to you to enable us, or other suppliers of ours, to manage and administer the provision of goods or services by you or the person that you work for, and to communicate with you in relation to that provision; this may include (where relevant) processing any information necessary to enable us to provide or arrange any facilities, resources, insurance, or anything else necessary to enable or assist you to provide goods or services to us.

Information we process

Name; contact details (address, email address, phone number); communications sent or received; professional or other accreditation details; bank account or other financial details; information (for example, relating to your health) relevant to facilities (for example, insurance) being organised or provided in order to assist you in providing the goods or services; images of you; other details provided by you or the person that you work for, that are relevant to the provision of goods or services by you or the person that you work for.

Legal basis for processing

The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are a party or to take steps at your request to enter into such a contract (if you are an individual supplier); or the processing is necessary for the purpose of legitimate interests pursued by us; information relating to your health will only be processed with your prior explicit consent, or to the extent necessary for carrying out our legal obligations or protecting your vital interests, or in relation to legal claims.

How long we keep your data

We will keep the information for as long as necessary to facilitate the provision of the relevant goods or services and then for a period of up to 6 years afterwards, after which we will normally delete it, unless it is necessary to retain it for archival purposes.

How do we collect your personal information?

Most of your personal information is collected directly from you, with the exception of information about your use of our app or website, or social media, which we collect incidentally during your use of the website or social media.

Who do we share your information with?

Your name, contact, and payment details may be shared with relevant financial institutions (for example, your bank) or payment service providers, for the purpose of processing any relevant financial transaction with you in relation to the app (for example, your subscription).

Service providers contracted to us in order to support and maintain our systems or business may obtain incidental access to your personal information when doing so; each such service provider will be party to a contract with us which protects the security and confidentiality of your data, and under which the service provider undertakes to comply with the relevant data protection regulations.

All information processed by us is processed and stored securely.

What are your data protection rights?

Under data protection law, you have rights including:

  • Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information. Please note that, in relation to any information relating to you and your health that is stored by you on the app, you can access this yourself at any time via the app, and we cannot provide you with copies of the information ourselves, because it is encrypted and so only you have access to it.
  • Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
  • Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to object to processing - You have the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
  • Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us using the details at the end of this policy if you wish to make a request.
