Arsenal fans were pleasantly surprised by Noni Madueke's display in their 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday.

Madueke has been in and out of Mikel Arteta's team throughout his spell at the Emirates. He joined the Gunners from Chelsea in a £52 million deal in the summer of 2025.

With Bukayo Saka set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, Madueke's chances of more first-team football have improved. He started on the right today and put in an eye-catching performance that has relieved supporters given Saka's importance.

Noni Madueke impresses as Arsenal beat Everton

Both of Arsenal's goals came from defenders, as Ezri Konsa netted his first goal for the club in the seventh minute. Arteta's side had to wait until the 68th minute for their second which Gabriel Magalhaes headed home on his 200th Premier League appearance.

While Madueke didn't get on the scoresheet or assist either of his team's goals, he was lively and noticeably looked more assured in the final third. He made two key passes, tried his luck with three shots and carried the ball forward 17 times.

Madueke has often found himself scrutinised especially at Chelsea where he struggled to earn consistent game time. He might not be a starter under Arteta, but he has plenty to offer as shown in the Everton win.

Fans give strong Madueke verdict

Madueke's display didn't go unnoticed by fans who praised the English winger for looking more confident. Some were stunned by what they saw, enthused about the possibility of him taking Saka's place for the time being.

One fan on X wrote: "Madueke looking a different player to a month ago. Playing with so much confidence and freedom."

Another supporter compared him to a Bayern Munich legend: "Madueke is moving like prime Robben"

One added: "I can’t believe this Madueke we are watching"

Another was delighted for the English attacker: "Noni Madueke has been exceptionally good today. Happy for him."

One wrote: "Madueke may not get the credit on rating apps but he was the one that instilled the fear into Everton early whilst darting in behind off the ball from angles he hasn't really done before. Body becoming even more sturdy which isn't common for a winger as he reaches his mid 20s."

Madueke will be hoping to continue in Arteta's starting lineup although his manager will likely make plenty of changes for next Tuesday's game. They host EFL League Two outfit Fleetwood Town in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
