Bruno Guimaraes made his competitive debut for Arsenal in their 1-0 win over Aston Villa on Monday night.
The Brazilian midfielder joined the Gunners from Newcastle United for £75 million earlier this summer but started the new Premier League season on the sidelines. He missed a 3-0 win over Coventry City in Mikel Arteta's side's opener due to a groin problem.
Arsenal fans eagerly awaited his first appearance in the top-flight and were given a glimpse of what he'll bring to the team when he came on at Villa Park. The defending champions beat Unai Emery's Villans 1-0 on the night courtesy of Bukayo Saka's 59th minute goal.

Guimaraes entered the fray in the 71st minute, replacing Myles Lewis-Skelly who put in another impressive performance in midfield. With the visitors trying to see the game out, the Brazilian helped control proceedings in the middle of the park.
The 28-year-old showcased his passionate playing style, including when he made a tackle to prevent Villa from breaking forward. He reacted in celebratory style before eventually celebrating all three points with his teammates.

Guimaraes will now be hoping to be named in Arteta's starting lineup when his side face Chelsea in a London derby on Sunday (September 6th). He enjoyed many battles against the Blues over the years while captaining Newcastle at St James' Park.

Guimaraes didn't need long to impress Arsenal supporters on his competitive debut. His hunger and determination have already earned huge praise from the Emirates faithful.
