According to Mundo Deportivo, after 96 seasons of Spanish top-flight football, Barcelona have scored 6,705 La Liga goals, compared with 6,656 for Real Madrid.
The 49-goal margin reflects how the gap has changed gradually over the past decade.
When Did Barcelona Overtake Real Madrid in All-Time La Liga Goals?
Barcelona trailed Real Madrid by eight goals in the all-time La Liga scoring count as recently as the 2019–20 season. Barcelona’s advantage began to grow after they scored 116 league goals in 2016–17.
Across the next four seasons through 2020-21, they scored 75 more goals than Real Madrid. Real Madrid outscored Barcelona by 25 goals across the three seasons from 2021-22 to 2023-24, narrowing the gap.
Barcelona then scored 102 league goals in 2024-25, compared with 78 for Real Madrid. The 24-goal difference in that season helped Barcelona extend their lead again. The gap widened further in 2025-26, with the Catalan giants scoring 95 league goals to Real Madrid’s 77.
Barca have continued to outscore Madrid this season, with 31 league goals to Real Madrid’s 18 after seven matches. Taken together, Barcelona have scored 921 league goals across the last 11 seasons combined.
Real Madrid have scored 815, a difference of 106.
