Chelsea are in talks to sign Sunderland midfielder Granit Xhaka.
Sources say that the Swiss midfielder wants to reunite with former coach Xabi Alonso, who is due to start work as new Chelsea manager on July 1.
It is thought that Xhaka, 34, is a specific request from Alonso to Chelsea’s hierarchy.
Sunderland do not want to sell the player, and Chelsea have their valuation, but the player wants the move.
