Ioana Ndiaye, wife of Manchester City’s new signing Iliman Ndiaye, has posted an emotional tribute to her husband on Instagram, describing his move to the Etihad Stadium as the start of “a very special new chapter.”
Her post came after Ndiaye completed his £65 million move from Everton to City and marked the first public reaction from his family since the transfer.
Posting to her verified account, Ioana wrote:
"There are some moments that make you stop and realise just how far you've come."
She continued: "I've watched you work for this every single day. I've seen the sacrifices, the pressure, the highs and the lows, and through it all you've never stopped working, believing and pushing yourself to be better."
The caption closed with a message of support: "A very special new chapter begins. We love you endlessly and we'll be beside you every step of the way. Always your biggest supporters."
What Ioana Ndiaye's Instagram Post Reveals About the Family's Manchester City Move
The post includes a carousel of images from what appears to be a Manchester City media event. Ndiaye is pictured in the club’s training kit alongside Ioana and their children, with a backdrop featuring sponsor branding from Etihad, Puma and Revolut.
One of their daughters is also holding a Manchester City shirt printed with the family’s surname. The post had gathered more than 23,000 likes, over 100 comments and close to 300 shares within two hours of going live.
Ioana has limited who can comment, a step she has taken on previous family updates, but the visible responses include a message of support from Megan Pickford, wife of Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford.
Why the Move Means So Much to the Family
Manchester City agreed to a package worth £65 million for Ndiaye, made up of £60 million guaranteed plus £5 million in add-ons. The Senegal international has signed a five-year contract at the Etihad.
The move comes two years after Ndiaye joined Everton from Marseille. He made 74 appearances for the club, scoring 21 goals before completing his move to City. Ndiaye also described the move as a new chapter in his career.
Speaking to Manchester City’s club, he said: “I've worked my whole life for an opportunity like this. City are one of the best clubs in the world and I've seen them win everything as I've grown up. To be able to write my own chapter in a story that special is the chance of a lifetime and I'm determined to grab it with both hands.”
