Liverpool have officially confirmed Turkish Airlines will become the club’s main partner and front-of-shirt sponsor from the 2027-28 season, replacing Standard Chartered after 17 years.

The airline’s branding will appear on the men’s, women’s and Academy match shirts from the start of the campaign. Standard Chartered will remain Liverpool’s main partner through 2026-27 before moving to global-partner status.

Why Turkish Airlines and Liverpool’s Partnership Goes Back to 2005

Liverpool said the new partnership has existing links to the 2005 Champions League final in Istanbul, with chief commercial officer Ben Latty pointing to the “special memories” from that night as a foundation for the new relationship.

“This is a milestone announcement for us, and we are delighted to welcome Turkish Airlines as our main club partner from June 2027,” Latty said.

“The front of the Liverpool shirt holds a special place in the history of our club. Turkish Airlines is a globally recognised organisation with an extensive international network, and we look forward to beginning our partnership and building a strong relationship together, with already strong foundations built from those special memories back in 2005.

The agreement brings together two organisations with a global reach. Liverpool said its supporter base spans every continent, while Turkish Airlines flies to more countries than any other airline from its Istanbul hub.

Turkish Airlines CEO, Ahmet Olmustur, said: "Liverpool Football Club is one of the world’s most recognised and respected football clubs, with an exceptional heritage and a truly global community of supporters."

“We are very pleased that Turkish Airlines will become the club’s main club partner and that our name will take its place on one of the most iconic shirts in world sport.

“As the airline that flies to more countries than any other, connecting people, cultures and continents is at the heart of who we are. This partnership brings together two global brands united by their international reach, commitment to excellence and ability to inspire millions of people around the world.

How Much Is Liverpool’s Turkish Airlines Shirt Deal Worth?

Liverpool did not disclose the financial value or duration of the agreement. Reports indicate that the five-year deal is worth more than £300 million, including an annual value of more than £60 million. The Athletic also reported a total value exceeding £300 million.

The reported annual figure is higher than the £50 million per year linked to Standard Chartered’s current agreement, according to BBC Sport. It is also believed to be a similar sum to Manchester United’s current deal with Snapdragon.

Liverpool has not officially described the Turkish Airlines agreement as a sponsorship record, although the club believes it is the most valuable front-of-shirt-only commercial deal in Premier League history.

The deal will come into effect on 1 June 2027.
