Milos Kerkez has expressed his disappointment with Liverpool's poor start to the 2026-27 season after his team settled for back-to-back draws in the Premier League.
The Hungarian left-back played in the Reds' 2-2 draws against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest.
This season, Liverpool have struggled to dominate and have had to fight back to salvage a point in each of their last two games.
LIVERPOOL TARGETING CLEAN SHEET AND FIRST WIN OF THE SEASON
For Kerkez and Liverpool defenders, the results against Newcastle United and Nottingham Forest mean there is more work to be done to avoid conceding goals.
Despite conceding four goals in their first two games, the 22-year-old believes they can build on the last two draws to avoid defeat and conceding goals.
Kerkez told the club website about their results: "Obviously not ideal, two points. But if you take the negatives out, we didn't lose. So, it's alright but we need to start winning games.
"For us, especially as defenders, we want clean sheets and the target is you don't want them to score.
"So, we worked on that, we worked to correct those things in this week, so I think it should get better.
"We had meetings, we had video analysis for the defenders always. So, we want to improve a lot in that and we can with the quality we have."
Liverpool have their attention on the trip to Portman Road when they face newly-promoted Ipswich Town with the aim of securing their first win of the season.
The Tractor Boys started the Premier League campaign with a 2-1 victory over Sunderland but they fell to a 5-2 loss at Manchester United last Sunday.
BRADLEY BARCOLA WILL HELP LIVERPOOL
Following his permanent transfer from Paris Saint-Germain on Monday, Kerkez is confident that French winger Bradley Barcola will make a huge contribution at Anfield this season.
Barcola signed a five-year deal for a fee reportedly worth up to £123 million and he boosts the Reds' firepower following the departure of Mohamed Salah this summer.
Kerkez raved about Barcola's skills after watching him in the team's training this week.
"He's a great player. Everyone knows him obviously," he continued.
"He had two or three sessions, you can see the quality and potential still to improve a lot. He can be a really good player.
"Really fast, good dribbler, so I think he's going to help us a lot."
Barcola arrives as a two-time Champions League winner and one of the most highly-rated wingers in European football. He'll potentially be linking up with Kerkez on the left flank moving forward.
