Tottenham Hotspur remain winless in their first three Premier League games of the season after drawing 0-0 away to Nottingham Forest.
Roberto De Zerbi's men were once again toothless in front of goal, with new signings Omar Marmoush and Savio unable to find a way past Matz Sels. The closest anyone came to scoring was Forest's Neco Williams, who had the ball in the back of the net, but VAR deemed him to have handled it.
The Lilywhites have at least picked up their first point of the campaign, but they continue to disappoint after a busy summer of spending. They have also failed to score in any of their first three games, a statistic that is grim to read.
Tottenham Goal Drought Goes On
This is the first time in 52 years that Spurs have failed to find the net in their opening three games. They were unable to score in defeats to Brentford (3-0) and Newcastle United (2-0) and today's stalemate against Forest.
De Zerbi has been backed with 10 new signings during the summer, including Sandro Tonali for £100m. Many tipped the North London outfit to return to European qualification after avoiding relegation on the final day of the 2025-26 campaign.
Based on the evidence from the start of the season, there is a lot of work for De Zerbi and his team to do if they are to consider a challenge for Europe. Scoring a goal is probably their first priority, and the jury is out on whether the recruitment was right given a lack of a prolific number nine.
Tottenham Must Get First Win vs Everton
Next up for Spurs is the visit of Everton next Saturday (September 12th) and De Zerbi will be eager for his team to get their first win on the board. Two defeats and a draw mean they currently sit 17th, exactly where they finished last season and the one prior.
It might just be one win to spur the Lilywhites on and get them back on track, and they don't have midweek European football to try to balance with domestic football. But after spending so much money in the summer, their fanbase will be wondering why they remain in somewhat of a crisis.
