London City Lionesses have strengthened their squad ahead of the new Women's Super League season by signing Germany international Nicole Anyomi on a four-year contract.

The 26-year-old forward arrives after the expiry of her contract with Eintracht Frankfurt, bringing top-level experience and an impressive goalscoring record to the newly promoted club.

Nicole Anyomi Completes Move to London City Lionesses

Anyomi has spent the past five seasons with Eintracht Frankfurt, where she established herself as one of the Bundesliga's most dangerous attacking players.

During her time at the German club, she scored 60 goals in 130 appearances across all competitions, earning recognition both domestically and on the international stage.

The move marks the first time in her career that the Germany international will play outside her home country.

Proven Goalscorer Arrives From Germany

Anyomi has been a regular part of the German national team since making her senior debut in 2021.

She has earned 34 international caps and featured in Germany's squad that reached the UEFA Women's Euro 2022 final before helping the national team secure a bronze medal at the 2024 Olympic Games.

Her pace, versatility and eye for goal are expected to add significant quality to London's attacking options as they prepare for life in the WSL.

Why Anyomi Chose the Women's Super League

Speaking after completing the move, Anyomi explained that the opportunity to test herself in England was a major factor in her decision.

She described the Women's Super League as a fast, direct and physical competition that will help her continue developing as a player.

The forward also revealed that she had spoken to Germany teammate and close friend Shekiera Martinez, who has experience of English football after spells with West Ham United and Tottenham Hotspur.

Those conversations helped convince Anyomi that the WSL was the right next step in her career.

What Anyomi's Arrival Means for London City Lionesses

London City Lionesses continue to show their ambition following promotion to the Women's Super League.

After securing defender Poppy Pattinson on a new contract earlier this week, the arrival of an established Germany international represents another statement of intent as the club prepares for its first season in England's top flight.

With proven experience at both club and international level, Anyomi could prove to be one of the standout signings of the summer if she adapts quickly to life in the WSL.
