Defensive midfielder · 1997-2013

World Cup winner with Brazil in 2002 and an Arsenal Invincible the season after. Built a career on positional discipline and reading the game two passes ahead, in a generation that did not always reward those qualities at first sight. Now coaches and works with young midfielders.
