Arsenal fans weren't entirely convinced by their 1-0 win over Napoli, having needed the in-form Martin Odegaard to net the winner at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium.

Mikel Arteta's men have made a perfect start to the season, winning all five of their games across competitions. They headed to Naples for their first European clash and eventually got the job done.

Odegaard scored a superb winner in the 75th minute as the Gunners finally found a way past a stern Napoli defence. They were frustrated for much of the game, unable to show a killer instinct.

Arsenal Spurn Chances in 1-0 Win Over Napoli

Arsenal certainly tried to break the deadlock before Odegaard's goal, finishing the game with 25 shots, although just nine of them were on target. Arteta's men dominated possession, but poor finishing prevented them from sealing a more emphatic victory.

Viktor Gyokeres led the line in Kai Havertz's place but the Swedish striker did little to prove to Arteta he deserves to be the first-choice number nine. He wasn't the only one who didn't take his chances as Bukayo Saka and Piero Hincapie wasted golden opportunities.

Odegaard came to the fore once again to continue his red-hot start to the season. The Norwegian midfielder's found the back of the net with a left-footed shot from outside the box, teed up by Christos Tzolis.

'Really Frustrating' - Fans Voice Concerns With Gunners

While there hasn't been much for Arsenal fans to complain about, some fans highlighted the North Londoners' lack of a clinical finisher. They were keen on signing Vinicius Junior but the Brazilian attacker extended his contract with Real Madrid.

Julian Alvarez had also been a top target but the Atletico Madrid striker snubbed a move to the Emirates because he wants to join Barcelona. Supporters believe ending the transfer window without a proven goalscorer could be an issue further down the line.

One fan on X wrote: "Lack a top quality attacker to take these chances. Who’d have thought it."

Another added: "We don't kill our chances... should have been two goals up."

One joked: "Arsenal will create a chance and still defend it themselves."

Another supporter asked: "Right now I wonder who the best finisher at Arsenal is. Def not Saka, def not Havertz, Gyokeres can’t get himself free in the first place so no need to put him on the list. Tzolis? Eze? Btw smirked at the thought of Madueke."

One added: "Really frustrating watching this Arsenal Game. Napoli defending deep, Arsenal can’t score."

Another wrote: "Someone has to make a video of every Arsenal shot in this game. The worst thing I’ve ever seen in my life."

One voiced their frustrations: "So many missed clear cut chances, we’re still below par when it comes to finishing and it’s going to be a problem this season."

Another replied: "The aspect of this poor finishing that harms Arsenal is it doesn’t allow Arteta to rotate early enough in matches. This game shouldn’t end up being a win by a single-goal margin or less based on the quality of chances created. We should be well clear & in a position to rest legs."

Arsenal finished last season top of the table during the Champions League's league phase. They made it to the final before losing to Paris Saint-Germain but some fans feel they missed a trick not signing a prolific goalscorer.
