The Liverpool midfielder looks set to join the reigning Serie A champions in search of more regular playing time, with Jones also entering the final year of his contract on Merseyside.
It remains unclear how much Jones would have featured under new manager Andoni Iraola, but he has been a player Inter have wanted for some time.
According to Sky Sport, it's now looking like midfielder Curtis Jones is set to leave Liverpool for the Nerazzurri before the summer transfer window closes.
It's understood that the clubs have reached a verbal agreement, with final details still to be completed in a deal expected to be worth €32 million plus a further €4 million in add-ons.
After already signing John Stones and Djed Spence from the Premier League, Inter have made Jones a priority, and manager Cristian Chivu now appears close to getting his target.
Jones' absence from Liverpool's recent pre-season friendlies against AS Monaco and Como also appeared to strengthen the possibility of a move away.
Jones is set to leave Liverpool after struggling for consistent minutes last season under Arne Slot. He faced strong competition from Ryan Gravenberch, Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai and Florian Wirtz, while Harvey Elliott, Wataru Endo, Stefan Bajcetic and Trey Nyoni also remain midfield options.
The latest development follows Inter's €25 million bid in June, which Liverpool rejected as they reportedly held out for a fee closer to €40 million, as per James Pearce of The Athletic.
The Serie A side also reportedly tried to get Jones in the winter transfer window, but nothing wound up materializing then and the move was delayed until now.
Jones will be leaving Liverpool after a total of 228 appearances across all competitions, tallying 22 goals and 25 assists along the way.
He helped Liverpool win the 2019-20 and 2024-25 Premier League titles as well as the 2019 Champions League, 2020 FIFA Club World Cup, 2022 FA Cup, 2022 and 2024 EFL Cups, and 2022 Community Shield.
While he might have wanted to stay on Merseyside and have a guarantee of more consistent minutes, As a Liverpool academy graduate, Jones' departure could leave the club without a Scouse player in the first-team squad following Trent Alexander-Arnold's move to Real Madrid.
