Everton have submitted a loan bid for Moroccan international Youssef En-Nesyri, who is currently playing at Turkish giants Fenerbahçe. Furthermore, Nottingham Forest are also interested in the forward, but the 28-year-old prefers a move to Merseyside.
Moreover, Fenerbache are said to be open to discussions for either a loan or a permanent move, according to Sky in Germany.
David Moyes' side has struggled to score goals all season, with just 23 league goals scored in the Premier League this season. A number that is only better than four teams in the Premier League.
Additionally, Everton's top goal scorers this season are Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Iliman Ndiaye, with just four each, and both have not been available because of injury and AFCON, respectively.
Moreover, Everton's two centre-forwards, Beto and Thierno Barry, have not been performing well for Moyes, with just five league goals between them all season, and it looks as though the manager has had enough.
Everton Eye Serie A Right-Back Pair to Fix Ongoing Full-Back Issues
Youssef En-Nesyri may be familiar to Manchester City supporters from his time at Sevilla, as he bagged a goal in the UEFA Super Cup Final in 2023. Additionally, Manchester United supporters may remember his brace against them in the Europa League semi-final, in the same year.
The Moroccan was also a star in his country's excellent World Cup campaign in 2022, as they became the first African nation to reach the semi-finals. Currently, En-Nesyri is with his country at the African Cup of Nations, awaiting Nigeria in the semi-final.
Moreover, he is a proven goal scorer in multiple European leagues, having scored seven league goals in 15 games so far this season for Fenerbahçe. The forward managed 30 goals in competitions last season, and has managed double figures in four of his previous five seasons for his current employers and Sevilla.
Everton need a proven and experienced goal scorer, and En-Nesyri certainly fits that bill for David Moyes as they look to rectify a poor scoring record and push further up the Premier League table.
