Fulham 1–1 Man Utd: ‘Special’ Josh King Just Landed on Big Six Wishlists

Josh King is surely going to be one to watch for top Premier League clubs this season following an eye-catching display in Fulham's 1-1 draw against Manchester United.

The Cottagers looked set to win their first game of the campaign when Lisandro Martinez put through his own net in the 63rd minute. Senne Lammens could only block Calvin Bassey's fierce effort with his feet and his United teammate couldn't control the rebound.

Luck came to the Red Devils' rescue in the 89th minute when Matheus Cunha's long-range strike deflected past Bernd Leno. It was a closely-fought game but Alvaro Arbeloa's men showed more desire and King was the standout performer.

Josh King is Craven Cottage's Crown Jewel

King has quickly grown into one of Fulham's most important players and today was another impressive outing. He caused United all sorts of problems with his intelligent movement, quick feet and confidence to try his luck at goal.

At just 19 he is already being tipped for a place in England's squad and Thomas Tuchel noted that he came close to making his most recent squad. With every new season, a new English talent seems to put their name up in lights, much like Alex Scott last season.

United's Kobbie Mainoo is a prime example of an academy prospect who develops into one of the most highly admired midfielders in the top-flight. It's fair to say that Premier League fans are starting to view King in a similar light.

When you put in the type of performance as the London-born youngster did today, it often leads to talk of a possible big six transfer. And there are certainly reasons why one of the big guns will be keeping an eye on him.

Take United for example who are thinking long term as much as they are short. INEOS have been focusing on youth and King might possess the type of profile they view as a viable long-term Bruno Fernandes heir.

Liverpool may also be inclined to monitor King given Florian Wirtz has yet to hit the heights anticipated. The same can be said for Tottenham Hotspur who lack creativity and may need to consider James Maddison's future.

There's a reason King's old schoolmates in Hampton used to compare him to Italy legend Andrea Pirlo. He plays with such elegance and class, a joy to watch with the ball at his feet.

King's latest display didn't go unnoticed by fans as many suggest he's likely to be on the radar of big clubs. One fan wrote on X: "Josh King is too special."

King has risen through the youth ranks at Fulham and already become a key man for the Cottagers. While he only just missed out on a place in England's squad for upcoming UEFA Nations League action, he'll be representing the U21s with whom he's earned six caps.
