Jeremy Doku has committed his long-term future to Manchester City, signing a new five-year contract that will keep the Belgian winger at the Etihad until 2031.
The 24-year-old has established himself as one of the Premier League's most exciting wide players since arriving from Rennes in 2023, combining explosive pace, close control and one-on-one ability with an increasingly consistent end product.
Now, with his future secured, Doku is set to continue his development under new City boss Enzo Maresca.
From potential to Premier League star
When Doku joined City three years ago, he arrived as one of Europe's most exciting young attacking talents.
Since then, he has developed into an important part of the club's squad.
The winger has already made 131 appearances for City, scoring 22 goals, while contributing across a number of positions.
Although most comfortable on the left, Doku has also shown his versatility by operating from the right and occasionally through the middle.
His first season in England provided an early indication of what he could offer.
A spectacular performance in City's 6-1 victory over Bournemouth saw Doku become the youngest player in Premier League history to register four assists in a single match, while also being involved in five goals.
That campaign ended with 43 appearances, six goals and 11 assists, as City secured a fourth consecutive Premier League title.
Turning Flair Into Consistent End Product
Doku's natural ability has never really been in question.
The next challenge has been turning that ability into consistent end product.
Injuries disrupted parts of his second season in Manchester, but he still finished 2024-25 with eight goals and nine assists from 41 appearances.
Last season saw another step forward.
The Belgian international produced his most productive campaign yet, making 47 appearances and contributing eight goals and 14 assists.
He was also instrumental in City's domestic cup success, including a decisive performance in the FA Cup semi-final against Southampton.
With City trailing, Doku scored the equaliser before providing the assist for Nico's late winner in a dramatic 2-1 victory.
It was another example of the qualities that have made him such an important part of the team.
A New Chapter Under Enzo Maresca
Doku's new contract also arrives at the beginning of a new era for the Sky Blues.
With Maresca now in charge, the winger is excited by the prospect of playing under a manager whose footballing philosophy suits his own style.
"I have loved my time at City so far, so to have the opportunity to stay for longer is a fantastic feeling," Doku said.
"This club means so much to me – I have developed as both a player and a person."
For City, securing Doku's future represents more than simply retaining a talented winger.

Doku's Best Years Could Still Be Ahead
Doku has already collected five major trophies during his time at City, including the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and Community Shield.
He has also become an increasingly important figure for Belgium, earning 48 international caps and helping his country reach the quarter-finals of the 2026 World Cup.
But at 24, there is still a sense that his best years are ahead of him.
His pace and dribbling have always made him a difficult player to defend.
The evolution has been in what happens after he beats his opponent.
More goals. More assists. Better decision-making. Greater consistency.
Now, with his future tied to Manchester City until 2031, Doku has the opportunity to continue that development in Manchester.
