Lamine Yamal scored twice as Barcelona beat Rayo Vallecano 5-2, becoming the youngest player to reach 50 goals for the club and sending Barcelona to the top of La Liga on goal difference.
Barca fell behind for the first time this season when Sergio Camello converted in the 12th minute. Raphinha equalised seven minutes later, before Yamal put the hosts ahead in the 21st minute with a left-footed curler into the top corner.
Florian Lejeune's own goal made it 3-1 in the 51st minute. Camello pulled one back before Raphinha restored the Catalans' two-goal lead in the 71st minute, and Yamal completed the scoring late with a low shot from outside the area.
The win made it three victories from three for Barcelona, with 12 goals scored and and just two conceded. The club now sits first on +10 goal difference and has won 21 consecutive home fixtures.
Barcelona controlled possession, completing 583 of 646 passes at 90 percent against Rayo's 210 accurate passes.
Yamal Reaches 50 Goals Faster Than Haaland And Mbappe
The opener was Yamal’s 50th goal for Barcelona, scored at 19 years and 49 days to make him the youngest player in the club’s history to reach the mark. His late strike took his tally to 51.
The previous Barcelona mark belonged to Josep Escola, who hit 50 in 1935 at 20 years and 356 days. Lionel Messi was about two years older when he managed the same feat for the club.
Yamal also reached the mark earlier than Kylian Mbappé and Erling Haaland.

His first Barcelona goal came on 8 October 2023 against Granada, when he became the youngest scorer in La Liga history.
What Comes Next for Barcelona After Yamal's Record-Setting Night
Flick said the result mattered more than Yamal’s individual milestone. “Most important is the three points. We have a good start this season; it's what we want,” he said. "In the first half, we played really good, I liked a lot what I saw.
In the second half, the opponent was strong, they pressed good, scored, it was we (who) struggled a little bit. The reaction after the first and second goal of Rayo was good.
"Of course we have to improve in some moments, control the game, because our style is also you recover a bit with the ball. It's always easier to recover with the ball. At the end we have to improve these moments a little bit.
He also praised Yamal’s performance. “He always wants to improve, and he can. How he's playing football it's amazing to see. For me, he's on an incredible level.”
Barcelona still have defensive issues to address after conceding twice. Their next test comes away from Camp Nou, where they will play for the first time this season.
