Jeremie Frimpong could leave Liverpool in the January transfer window, just 18 months after he was signed from Bayer Leverkusen.

According to WinWin Sports, the right-back has been offered to clubs in Saudi Arabia for a potential move.

Frimpong was brought to Anfield as Trent Alexander-Arnold's replacement following the England star's switch to Real Madrid, but his stay on the Merseyside has been marred by injuries and inconsistent performances.

He is still under contract until 2030 and reportedly valued at around £28 million.

Frimpong offered to Saudi club

Frimpong has been handed a route to rejuvenate his career in Saudi Arabia with Al Hilal exploring the options of signing the 25-year-old.

The report added that the Liverpool player is opened to continuing his career in a new country and a different atmosphere in the Middle East.

Liverpool, on their part, are not short of options in the right-back position with Conor Bradley and loanee Ronald Araujo who has been impressive since his signing from Barcelona.

The Reds also have the option to make Araujo's loan permanent with a reported asking price of €55m which could be raised from Frimpong's sale.

Frimpong's struggles at Liverpool

The 25-year-old was an integral part of the Bayer Leverkusen team that won the German treble and the UEFA Europa League in 2024 but he has found it difficult to live up to expectations at Liverpool.

Frimpong's lack of adequate playing time and recurring injury woes made him miss the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the Netherlands.

He has played just 201 minutes in five Premier League matches this season and it is still uncertain if he is fit to play a part when Liverpool take on Crystal Palace on Sunday.

The Dutch star is yet to play a Premier League match since October 17 due to a muscle injury he picked up against Brentford.
