Chelsea have today agreed a deal to sign Crystal Palace and French International Maxence Lacroix.

Lacroix, 26, will join Chelsea in a deal worth in the region of £52 million.

As I exclusively reported at the end of May, Chelsea had held internal discussions over adding more height and physicality, something backed also by new manager Xabi Alonso.

Standing at 6 foot 3 inches tall and possessing rapid speed and strength, Lacroix ticks the aforementioned profile that Chelsea have been targeting this window.

The Blues also recruited Marco Palestra and Morgan Rogers, who also possess similar frames.

Sources told Striver.Football that talks had been ongoing for weeks behind the scenes with both player and Crystal Palace.

Palace chairman Steve Parish is a known tough negotiator, with higher fees initially being asked to sanction a sale.

However, the deal is now complete, and Lacroix will undergo a medical today.
