Everton travel south to the Midlands in this final Premier League matchday of the year to play Nottingham Forest. Whilst Forest begin to fall into a relegation fight, David Moyes' Everton aim to see just how high they can go.
It has been a tough season for Forest especially considering there suburb campaign last season. Three different managers have been in the Dugout so far this season, Nuno, Ange Postecoglou and Sean Dyche.
They find themselves sitting just one place above the relegation zone. Having lost their previous two games it is key for Forest to end what has been a momentous year for The Reds on a high.
Last time out for Forest was against Manchester City. Forest put a strong fight against a title fighting team going one goal up. Ultimately it was not enough though as Forest fell to goals from new City stars Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki.
Everton have had one of their best campaigns in years this season. Under David Moyes The Toffees have risen to twelfth well clear of any relegation troubles assuming no massive changes.
This can be attributed to new signings hitting the ground running, Jack Grealish and Kiernan Dewsbury Hall especially have excelled in the League this season.
The last few games for Everton have been hard despite how well the club has done overall. The last time Everton won a game was three matches ago actually against Nottingham Forest. Since meetings Everton have lost to Chelsea and Arsenal. Last time out Everton drew with relegation threatened Burnley.
Four of the last meetings between the two clubs have been won by Everton. This includes the fixture earlier in the month that saw Forest lose 3-0 at the Toffees brand new stadium.
The one win Forest has got over Everton recently was in December of last year, Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White scoring twice to defeat the Blue side of Liverpool.
As Everton are currently considered to be favourites in this match they will most likely control the ball. David Moyes though prefers defensive football and will likely hope to not allow Forest many opportunities on the break.
Forest on the other hand will be hoping to soak up pressure to then explode on the counter attack. This is set to be an exciting encounter as both sides aim to make the fine margins count.
