Former Chelsea coach Liam Rosenior is the preferred candidate to take over as Paris FC coach this summer, according to a report from talkSPORT.
The 41-year-old is likely to return to the dugout in France after a turbulent four-month spell at Stamford Bridge, a stint that caused his reputation in England to take a hit.
Why Paris FC Have Made Liam Rosenior Their Top Target
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Rosenior has been approached by Paris FC to take over from Antoine Kombouare this summer.
Kombouare is set to leave the club this summer despite having a year left on his contract with them. The 62-year-old led Paris FC to finish in 11th place in the 2025-26 season, their first in the top-flight for 42 years.
Paris FC appointed Antoine Kombouare to steady the ship after a poor start to the campaign under Stephane Gilli, and the experienced tactician managed to save them from a relegation battle.
The club have taken the decision to bring in a new coach this summer and will try to do so before the commencement of pre-season, in order to give the coach ample time to get his ideas across on the training pitch.
Rosenior was looking to take some time off after his experience with Chelsea, but the approach from Les Parisiens has appealed to him, and he is finalizing a deal with them.
Why France is the Perfect Escape Route for Rosenior After Chelsea Sacking
Liam Rosenior was brought in by Chelsea in January after Enzo Maresca's mid-season exit threatened to halt their momentum.
The 41-year-old had never coached in the English top-flight at this point, with his most significant success coming in France with Strasbourg.
Rosenior led the Ligue 1 side to finish seventh in the 2024-25 season, despite having the youngest squad in Europe's top five leagues.
The former Hull City coach had been building himself up and working his way up the ladder before the Chelsea job came.
He was in charge for 23 games and was sacked in April after a run of five successive defeats, including an 8-2 aggregate loss in the UEFA Champions League against Paris Saint-Germain.
Rosenior still has admirers in France due to his work with Strasbourg, and a return to France would make sense for the young tactician to rebuild his stock, which took a huge hit in his 104-day spell at Chelsea.
What Liam Rosenior Could Bring To Paris FC
Paris FC are an ambitious club owned by the billionaire Arnault family, with Red Bull also owning a stake in the club.
They have former Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp working as a global advisor, a part of his wider role with Red Bull, and have an ambitious project to become one of Europe's biggest clubs.
Rosenior will be handed the task of leading their squad to improve on their mid-table finish from the 2025-26 season, something he is experienced at from his time at Strasbourg.
He will aim to refresh their ageing squad with the introduction of younger players, as he did with Strasbourg, and will undoubtedly make his side competitive against the biggest teams in France.
Paris FC have made just one signing, 19-year-old Patrick Zabi, this summer, and will be active in the final month of the summer transfer window.
