The Nigeria international's charity tournament will bring together brands, creators and footballers to support the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust.

Football, Community And Purpose Come Together At P17 Cup

Football tournaments often bring people together through competition.

Alex Iwobi's P17 Cup aims to do that while making a meaningful difference away from the pitch.

Taking place at Cray Wanderers on June 21, Sunday, the event will see brands, footballers and supporters unite for a charity tournament supporting the African Caribbean Leukaemia Trust (ACLT), an organisation dedicated to increasing the number of stem cell, blood and organ donors from Black communities.

With around 500 attendees already expected alongside approximately 200 players, the event promises to be one of the most unique grassroots football gatherings of the summer.

More Than A Football Tournament

While the action on the pitch will be fiercely contested, P17 Cup has been built around a wider purpose.

Teams competing in the adult tournament have been selected through brands contributing to the charitable cause, with all funds raised going towards ACLT's work.

The winning team will receive a £1,000 cash prize, a £1,000 Daily Paper voucher and products from UGG, adding extra incentive to an already competitive event.

However, the focus extends beyond trophies and prizes.

An African-inspired theme will run throughout the day, with activations and experiences celebrating culture and community while helping raise awareness around blood and stem cell donation.

ACLT will also have a dedicated presence at the event, helping educate attendees about the life-saving impact of donor registration.

Why Events Like This Matter

Football has always been about more than what happens during 90 minutes.

At its best, the game creates opportunities to bring people together, start conversations and support causes that can change lives.

That is exactly what P17 Cup aims to achieve.

By combining football, culture and charitable giving, the event highlights how the sport can be used as a platform for positive change.

For those attending, it will be an opportunity to enjoy competitive football while supporting a cause that continues to make a difference within communities across the United Kingdom.

A Growing Summer Event

With hundreds of players and supporters expected at Cray Wanderers, P17 Cup is set to deliver plenty of action both on and off the pitch.

But perhaps its biggest success will not be measured by goals scored or trophies lifted.

Instead, it will be measured by the awareness raised, the conversations started and the impact created through football's ability to bring people together for something bigger than the game itself.
