Still only 18 years old, Harrison Bettoni is a regular and a key player for League One side Wigan, having made his senior league debut for the club in November 2025.

Harrison Bettoni is not joining Chelsea to immediately play a role in Xabi Alonso's side for the 2026-27 season, and will join the U-21 team in pre-season.

The youngster will be an option for their PL2 squad and may be retained with the group, just as Jesse Derry was after his move from the Crystal Palace academy last summer.

With nine starts in the notoriously physical third tier of English football last season, Bettoni may also request that he be made available to head out on loan instead of playing academy football.
