Anthony Gordon took to social media to celebrate his maiden goal for Barcelona in their 3-0 win over Getafe in La Liga.

Gordon moved from Newcastle United to Barca on a five-year deal in May and and he scored his first goal for the club in his seventh La Liga appearance.

The 25-year-old got Hansi Flick’s men off to a flying start at the Spotify Camp Nou with a well-placed strike from the edge of the penalty area.

Gordon’s second-minute goal propelled the Catalans to extend their winning start to La Liga to eight games.

In addition to his maiden goal, the England forward has registered four assists this season.

The former Newcastle United star found the back of the net against Spain, Czech Republic and Croatia.

HANSI FLICK PLEASED WITH ANTHONY GORDON’S FORM

Gordon saw 72 minutes of action against Getafe before he was replaced by Karim Adeyemi.

Flick expressed satisfaction with the Englishman’s contribution and he commended the early lead as Gabriel Jesus and Jules Kounde added to the goals.

“For me, Gordon is doing very well, as he has in previous matches,” Flick said via AS. “We are very happy with him.

“He contributes a lot; he has speed, ball control, and is always looking for the ball. With his speed, he always creates danger.

“I think matches against Getafe aren't easy. They're one of the best defensive teams, and it's not easy to create chances.

“I'm very happy to score in the first minute; it's given us confidence. It's not easy after a three-week break. We've had to manage it. I'm happy with the team's performance.”
