Argentina 1–1 Ghana (4–5 on pens)

In an intense battle on Pitch 2, Ghana displayed discipline after being reduced to 10 players, holding their nerve in a high-stakes penalty shootout to punch their quarter-final ticket.

Player of the Match Jessica Appiah gave Joe Nana Adarkwa's side an early breakthrough in the 16th minute, smashing home after a unselfish square pass from Cynthia Obinsrewuo.

Argentina pressed hard for a response, with Mercedes Diz rattling the crossbar, before Obinsrewuo had a lobbed goal ruled out for offside.

The game shifted in the 77th minute when Ghana defender Hajara Adam received a second yellow card. Argentina capitalized on the numerical advantage in the 86th minute as Mercedes Diz looped a magnificent header over Belinda Maku Aklie from a deep free-kick.

With no extra time, Ghana executed a flawless shootout: after Oriana Gomez dragged her penalty wide for Argentina, Ghana converted all five spot-kicks, with Appiah stepping up to fire home the decisive winner.

Germany 0–1 Venezuela

In the biggest surprise of Morocco 2026 so far, Venezuela—who reached the knockouts as a best third-placed side with two group-stage defeats—stunned a German side that had swept through their group with three straight wins.

The South Americans struck in the 5th minute when Germany failed to clear Karla Alfonzo’s dangerous right-wing delivery. Diana Bravo pounced on the loose ball, rifling it into the back of the net.

Germany dominated ball possession for the remaining 85 minutes but were repeatedly thwarted by Venezuela's resolute low block and sensational goalkeeping from Valeria Rebanales, securing a monumental quarter-final berth for La Vinotinto.

Korea 6–0 Morocco

Two-time champions Korea demonstrated why they remain the team to beat at Morocco 2026, delivering a clinical six-goal performance to eliminate the hosts on Pitch 3.

Yu gave DPR Korea the lead in just the sixth minute when she headed in an Eh Chong-gum corner from close range. After hitting the woodwork, the Korean sensation then struck her seventh goal of the Morocco 2026 campaign just before the break.

Kim Won-sim also netted a double of her own, firstly taking advantage of a defensive error by Morocco and then striking just after the half-hour mark. DPR Korea did not let up after the break with Ri Ui-gyong and Ri Kyong-im extending the lead.

Displaying trademark physical intensity, high-speed combination play, and relentless pressing, the Asian powerhouses suffocated Morocco's buildup from the opening whistle, breezing into the last eight with another statement clean sheet.
