The 2026 FIFA U20 Women’s World Cup in Poland has enjoyed a goal-filled start since kicking off on 5 September.
Across the opening matches in Katowice, Lodz, Sosnowiec, and Bielsko-Biała, the tournament has delivered plenty of attacking football, highlighted by 20 goals on Matchday 4 alone.
Host nation Poland made a strong start in Group A, while Brazil and England delivered dominant displays in Group B.
At the heart of the tournament is an early battle for the adidas Golden Boot. Rachel Maltby (England) and Annika Paz (Argentina) currently lead the goalscoring charts, setting the pace with 4 goals each.
Maltby, playing in defence, netted a first-half hat-trick in a 5-1 win over Tanzania, while Paz scored four goals, including a six-minute hat-trick, against Benin.
