Bruno Fernandes picked up an injury in today's loss against Aston Villa. Ruben Amorim spoke in the post match Press conference about the Injury.

The Manchester United captain has a stellar record in games with Amorim saying as such. "It's a guy that is always fit" said the Red Devils manager.

Since joining Manchester United in January of 2020- the Portuguese has missed just three matches from injury in his entire United career. To compare, Mason Mount who joined in 2023, has missed fifty-two games since joining the club.

This amazing record has led to Fernades playing at least thirty-five league games in every full season he has had at Manchester United.

Often seen as a spark in what most consider some of the poorest seasons in Manchester United history, Bruno Fernandes has been one of the best midfielders since joining from Sporting Club Lisbon.

The midfielders ability and output made him Premier League player of the year in 2020. He has also been the Europa League top goal scorer for two occasions for United.

All this to say things he has not been involved in much silverware for the Red Devils since joining. He has only won an FA Cup and Carabao cup in a United shirt. This is despite appearing in two Europa League finals that United lost, one being against Tottenham last season. He has also lost an FA Cup final vs local rivals Manchester City.

With the Africa Cup of Nations underway, Manchester United's attacking depth is lacking with Amad Diallo and Bryan Mbuemo missing. This may force Amorim to play Kobbie Mainoo. Once a favourite at Old Trafford, Mainoo has had limited minutes this season under Amorim. Fernandes could instead be deputised by Mason Mount, though he himself has had injury problems in the past which has made the manager keen to not over play him.

It is unclear who exactly can step in for Bruno Fernandes, but they will have a tough shoes to fill as United play Newcastle on Boxing Day.
