New Manchester United interim boss Michael Carrick has added former England assistant manager Steve Holland and Jonathan Woodgate to his new coaching staff.
Four spots on his coaching staff have already been filled to tackle the rest of the Premier League season.
The addition of Steve Holland is one of the more astute pick-ups in a chaotic situation at Old Trafford.
Holland started his coaching career with Crewe Alexandra, completing his UEFA Pro License, earning a job as the youth academy manager at Stoke City.
His big break came at Chelsea, working under Andre Villas-Boas, Roberto Di Matteo, Rafael Benitez, Jose Mourinho, Guus Hiddink, and Antonio Conte.
Through the years as Chelsea assistant manager, Holland was a leading figure in the club's trophy-winning success.
Ge won two Premier League titles, one Champions League, one Europa League, an FA Cup, and a League Cup.
After a glittering spell at Chelsea, Holland earned himself the role of England assistant manager under Gareth Southgate in 2013.
He and Southgate set out with making England competitive again in major tournaments.
They led the team to back-to-back European Championship finals and a World Cup semi-final appearance.
Holland secured a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) in the 2022 New Year Honours.
England lost to Spain in the Euro 2024 final, ending Holland and Southgate's reign at the helm of the country.
In December 2024, Holland returned to management for the first time in 17 years, taking over the Japanese J-League team Yokohama F. Marinos.
Holland's season started in February 2025, winning one of his first 11 league games and losing his job.
Despite his failures in Japan, Holland has a proven track record of winning the biggest trophies in England.
His experiences in bringing that feel-good factor back to England will be imperative to Manchester United as they look to instil calm in a chaos-filled environment.
He and Carrick’s first game in charge is against fellow city rivals Manchester City in the early kick-off on Saturday.
