Egyptian fans have sent a bold Mohamed Salah message to Liverpool boss Arne Slot during the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

The Pharaohs secured qualification for the AFCON round of 16 after finishing top of Group B with seven points.

Having earned back-to-back wins over Zimbabwe and South Africa, Egypt's final group game against Angola was only a foregone conclusion.

Head coach Hossam Hassan opted to rest multiple players, led by Mohamed Salah. The Liverpool ace started on the bench along with Mahmoud Trezeguet and Mohamed El-Shenawy.

However, fans in attendance made sure to keep Salah entertained on the bench as they raised an interesting banner that surfaced online quickly.

Despite putting his issues with Liverpool and Arne Slot to bed recently, fans reminded the club how crucial Salah has been to their success.

"Slot: Our king is the real treasure," the banner said.

With Salah out of Egypt's lineup, the seven-time AFCON champions relied on an attacking trio consisting of Mostafa Mohamed, Ibrahim Adel, and Salah Mosen.

As a result, a heavily rotated squad saw Egypt fail to break down Angola's defense on Monday, with the latter nearly finding the back of the net on multiple occasions.

Hassan's side also struggled with finishing in the second half despite finding acres of space on the counterattack.

The result, however, will not matter much in the grand scheme of things as Egypt will look forward to learn their opponents in the round of 16 following the end of the group stages.

Al Masry right-back Ahmed Eid, who filled in for the suspended Mohamed Hany, shared his thoughts after Egypt's draw with Angola and believes they are in Morocco to win the title.

"Hossam Hassan, the technical staff, and Mo Salah are all telling us we can't go back without the AFCON title," Eid told ON Sports after the game.

"All 28 players in the squad will keep fighting until we bring the championship home to make the streets of Egypt happy once again.”
