Barcelona have unveiled a special-edition shirt featuring the GOLF WANG logo for their upcoming El Clasico clash with Real Madrid, continuing their partnership with Spotify.
Tyler, The Creator is the latest global star to feature on Barcelona’s shirt, with the artist’s distinctive GOLF logo set to replace Spotify’s usual branding for one of football’s biggest fixtures.
The special-edition kit will be worn when Barcelona host Real Madrid on Sunday, 25 October, with the club’s women’s team set to debut the design against Granada a day earlier.
The collaboration marks the ninth artist shirt takeover since Barcelona and Spotify began their partnership, following previous campaigns involving some of the biggest names in music.
But this latest release takes the concept a step further.
For the first time, Spotify has handed full creative control of the campaign to an artist and their brand, bringing Tyler’s distinctive visual identity into Barcelona’s football and fashion worlds.
What Does Barcelona’s Tyler, The Creator Shirt Look Like?
The shirt retains Barca’s familiar blue and garnet colours, but the traditional Spotify branding on the front is replaced by the GOLF logo, representing GOLF WANG, Tyler’s fashion label.
Founded in 2011, GOLF WANG has developed its own identity through bold colours, streetwear and unconventional designs, an aesthetic that will extend across the wider collaboration.
The partnership goes beyond the shirt itself, with a collection featuring items including jackets, tracksuits, T-shirts, hoodies, shorts, scarves and accessories.
The club has confirmed that 1,899 limited-edition match-quality shirts will be available, a reference to Barcelona’s founding year.
There will also be more exclusive versions, including just 22 shirts signed by players involved in the men's El Clasico and women's fixture against Granada, alongside 11 shirts signed by Tyler himself.
The collection will be available through Barcelona’s official stores, its online shop and selected Nike and GOLF WANG retail locations.
Which Artists Have Featured on Barcelona’s Shirts Before?
The Catalan giants' collaboration with Spotify has increasingly brought music and football together, using the global attention surrounding El Clasico to reach audiences beyond the sport.
Previous shirt takeovers have featured Drake, Rosalia, The Rolling Stones, KAROL G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo.
Each collaboration has brought a different visual identity to the shirt, turning the traditional sponsorship space into a platform for artists to connect with football supporters.
Drake was the first artist to feature in the initiative in 2022, with his OVO owl logo replacing Spotify branding for Barcelona’s match against Real Madrid.
Coldplay’s 2024 collaboration proved particularly memorable, with the band’s logo appearing on the shirt during another El Clasico meeting.
Tyler’s arrival continues that tradition while giving the partnership a stronger fashion focus.
How Barcelona’s Tyler, The Creator Collaboration Goes Beyond Football
The latest collaboration reflects Barcelona’s efforts to build their identity beyond the pitch.
El Clasico already attracts a global audience, but partnerships with artists such as Tyler allow the club to connect with fans through music, streetwear and popular culture.
The campaign will also extend into gaming, with the GOLF-branded shirt becoming available in Konami’s eFootball from 24 October.
Spotify is also planning a special Barcelona event celebrating the collaboration, bringing together music, football and fashion ahead of the fixture.
For Tyler, the partnership represents another opportunity to bring his creative identity to a new audience. For Barcelona, it is another way to make one of football’s biggest occasions feel like a cultural event as well as a sporting contest.
When Will Barcelona Wear the Tyler, The Creator Shirt?
Barca Femeni will wear the special-edition shirt against Granada on Saturday, 24 October, before the men’s team debuts it against Real Madrid on Sunday, 25 October.
With the next El Clasico approaching, the collaboration gives supporters another talking point before the two rivals meet.
Although the shirt will be worn for a specific occasion, Barcelona and Spotify will be hoping the collaboration makes an impact beyond the final whistle.
