Arsenal Women have announced the signing of promising young talent Lisa Baum from Frauen-Bundesliga side RB Leipzig.

Her arrival marks the Gunners' fifth new signing of the transfer window, with the undisclosed fee reportedly a significant six-figure sum that is believed to be a club-record sale for the Red Bulls.

Why Arsenal Signed Lisa Baum

After making 68 appearances, scoring 21 goals and helping Hamburger SV climb from the third tier to the Bundesliga with two promotions, Baum joined RB Leipzig last summer.

She continued to impress in Germany's top division, scoring six goals in 26 appearances during a breakthrough campaign.

Despite being Tanzanian-born, Baum has represented Germany from the U17s through to the U23s, with a potential senior international call-up likely if her progression continues in north London.

The BBC have reported that she joins Arsenal on a three-year deal with an option to extend for a further year.

Arsenal fended off competition from fellow elite clubs including Lyon, Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Barcelona to secure Baum's signature.

Why Arsenal Believe Baum Can Become a Star

In a press release announcing her signing on Arsenal's official website, Baum expressed her excitement at joining the club:

“I’m so happy to join Arsenal and I can’t wait to get started. This league is so competitive and Arsenal is a big club, so I’m excited to challenge myself and compete with the best. I want to win trophies and develop my game, and Arsenal feels like the perfect match to achieve that.”

Arsenal manager Renee Slegers also spoke highly of her new addition, describing Baum as a player who will add further attacking qualities to the squad.

“Lisa is a young wide forward who will bring direct intent and athleticism to our attacking group. At 19, she is still developing and we believe she has huge potential, which we will support her to achieve.”

Director of Women’s Football Clare Wheatley further praised the signing, describing Baum as “one of the most highly rated young wingers in Europe” and highlighting her potential to continue developing in north London.

Baum will wear the No.19 shirt for the Gunners during the 2026-27 campaign as Arsenal continue their pursuit of further silverware in the Women’s Super League and beyond.
