Following his landslide election victory that secured his presidency until 2030, Florentino Perez is moving quickly to deliver one of his key campaign promises.

During a heated campaign against challenger Enrique Riquelme, Perez made a promise to Real Madrid members as he sought another five years at the helm.

According to AS, Perez pledged that every Real Madrid member would receive an official club shirt, regardless of their age, gender or length of membership. He went on to win the election with 65% of the vote and has now confirmed when the initiative will begin.

Real Madrid to Give Members Exclusive 125th-Anniversary Shirt

AS also reported that the club will officially give the exclusive shirts to their almost 100,000 members in March 2027, perfectly timed to celebrate the club's 125th anniversary on March 6.

This isn't just a standard home kit giveaway. The shirt, nicknamed "La Socia," will feature a 125th-anniversary design. Crucially for collectors and die-hard fans, the club has confirmed that it will not be sold in any official Real Madrid stores.

Los Blancos plans to contact each member individually to confirm sizes before the rollout begins. Excitingly, this could just be the beginning, the initiative could eventually become a long-term tradition, with members potentially receiving a different historical design each year.

But does the initiative represent genuine engagement with the members, or is it simply another way for Perez to strengthen his position at the club?

Why Florentino Perez Still Needs Success on the Pitch

While rewarding members off the pitch may help Perez build goodwill, he remains under immense pressure to deliver results on it.

After going through back-to-back trophyless seasons, the president has heavily invested in a massive sporting overhaul.

Having brought back Jose Mourinho, Perez has backed the Portuguese manager with a wave of elite signings.

The arrival of global stars such as Bernardo Silva, Ibrahima Konate, Marc Cucurella and Denzel Dumfries underlines Perez's determination to return Real Madrid to the pinnacle of European football.

With tensions within the squad needing to be resolved after last season's clashes, success in either La Liga or the Champions League will be crucial for Perez.

Real Madrid's demanding supporters will ultimately judge Perez's new mandate by what happens on the pitch, not by the shirts they receive.
