Gianni Infantino attacked the critics of the 2026 World Cup in a 15-slide post on Instagram in what was a lengthy message for football fans to view.
The FIFA President apologised to those who "missed all that joy and togetherness" of the tournament because they were "consumed by hate and criticism."
The Swiss football administrator believed that FIFA found their piece by "delivering the most outstanding FIFA World Cup" which haters may not agree with.
His comments throughout the post showcased what football is about, spreading positivity to the world, rather than negative thoughts.
How Gianni Infantino Defended The 2026 World Cup
Infantino provided comments to share to critics why World Cup 2026 was a success and didn't need to receive such hate.
He said: "Seven million people from over 200 countries enjoyed the tournament across 16 fantastic cities and stadiums: zero incidents, zero hostility, zero violence, just joy, emotions, happiness, unity and togetherness."
"Billions worldwide watched the FIFA World Cup from home, sharing moments of love for the game with friends and family," he added.
The 56-year-old went on to show his appreciation to all who were involved in the event.
"All of this was made possible thanks to the governments of the three host countries and their tremendous contributions, thanks to FIFA and its fantastic team working for you."
"Thanks to the host countries and all their people, the police forces and their incredible commitment, and the volunteers," Infantino added.
Infantino Responds To Critics
The FIFA President was clearly unimpressed with the level of hate that World Cup 2026 received, and of course, he had to express his thoughts.
He said: "To those behind their pens and papers, behind their screens spreading hate and false rumours."
"While you divide, we unite."
While they celebrated, you were busy planting seeds of hate."
Infantino made a suggestion to those who have been sharing harsh criticism about the tournament.
He stated: "To those spending their time and energy hating us, please take a moment to reflect, meditate, pray, or watch a football match and truly observe the faces, the eyes, the emotions."
The Switzerland international wants critics to know that football is for all and should rise above all the hate it receives.
"Only our beautiful game can deliver such an extraordinary show, a show where everyone becomes one and reconnects as humans," he added.
Why The 2026 World Cup Faced Criticism
Getting to a World Cup would be a tough journey for many travelling supporters with visa restrictions in the US.
The visa rejection rate was higher than 40% of this World Cup as it affected 11 of the 48 countries who's fans were ready to show their support.
It was mainly causing issues for African countries as they had to secure visas before December.
One reason for consumers' unhappiness was the investigation of ticket prices at World Cup 2026
Fans across the world were outraged due to the fact that tickets were extremely expensive, which added to the costs of travel, accommodation and food.
For the World Cup final, FIFA had seats on sale for $7,380 which certainly put people off from attending, leading to fans sharing their thoughts online.
One particular moment that left viewers in shock was the suspension of United States player Folarin Balogun.
In USA's 2-0 victory over Bosnia and Herzegovina in the Round of 32, Balogun received a red card and would have to settle for a one-match ban.
However, US President Donald Trump planned to intervene so the red card could be rescinded, and he got his wish as FIFA did exactly that.
Fans were left furious as Balogun was able to play in United States' Round of 16 game against Belgium.
