Andros Townsend avoided serious injury after being hit by a motorised pitch roller during the half-time warm-up of PT Prachuap's Thai League 1 match against Pattani FC.
The 35-year-old winger was warming up when the roller, driven by a member of the ground staff, moved onto the pitch and collided with him. His legs went underneath the machine before teammates rushed over to help him up
Neither Prachuap nor the Thai League had publicly explained how the roller came onto the pitch while players were warming up. Townsend was not named in Prachuap's starting line-up.
He came off the bench in second-half stoppage time as Prachuap won 3-0.

Townsend confirmed he was fine on social media rather than through a club statement. He shared footage of the collision on Instagram with the caption: "Just another day in Thai Football (he was fine)."
He followed it with a second post: a clip of Spider-Man stopping a moving bus, captioned in reference to his own resilience.
The match was already settled by the time Townsend came on. The 3-0 win was his third appearance of the season, having started Prachuap's first two matches.

Townsend joined Prachuap in 2026 after spending the previous season with Kanchanaburi Power in Thailand and previously playing for Turkish club Antalyaspor.
The 35-year-old previously said he moved to Southeast Asian football after a pay dispute in Turkey, where he had gone unpaid for several months before agreeing to leave in exchange for his outstanding salary. He won 13 England caps between 2013 and 2016.
He scored three goals and played in the Premier League for Tottenham, Newcastle, Crystal Palace and Everton before later spells at Luton Town and abroad.
