Tottenham Hotspur have received a huge boost as Xavi Simons is close to entering the final stage of his recovery from an anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Simons ruptured his ACL during a Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers in April and he has been out of action for the past seven months.
According to The Times, the 23-year-old is set to resume team training later this month which signals his near return to action.
Simons moved to North London from Leipzig in 2025 and he played an important role in helping Spurs avoid relegation last season with his contribution of two goals and five assists.
Simons' boost for Tottenham
Simons' expected return in November is set to boost Tottenham's attack as Roberto De Zerbi's team seeks to turn around their slow start to the Premier League campaign.
Spurs are ninth in the Premier League table and they are on a three-game winning run after failing to register a win in their first eight matches of the season.
The North London club spent over £300 million in the summer transfer window but Simons' return would provide more attacking options for De Zerbi ahead of the busy festive fixtures.
The Dutch star shone as Tottenham's playmaker during his debut season with his creativity and his relentless pressing in games.
Tottenham's injury news
In a similar development, French winger Wilson Odobert who suffered an ACL injury on February 10 against Newcastle United has resumed training.
Spurs announced that the 21-year-old, who played 24 Premier League games last season, had an individual training session on Wednesday.
Odobert's near return to action comes as a boost for Spurs ahead of their Premier League meeting against Leeds United on Saturday.
Other players still on treatment table include Mykhailo Mudryk, Savio, Lucas Bergvall and Tosin Adarabioyo as De Zerbi is close to having a full injury-free squad.
