Fulham's creative midfielder, Josh King, has enjoyed a fantastic start to his Premier League campaign. With two Premier League goals and an assist in the Carabao Cup, the Englishman has started the season in form not expected from a 19 year old.

King leads Premier League in shocking stat

At just 19 years old, Josh King leads the Premier League in touches in opposition box with a staggering 37. With an average of 7.4 touches in the opposition box a game, he not only leads the Premier League but comfortably beats out world class strikers such as Erling Haaland but also some of the most dangerous wingers in the league. With just one touch less than Jude Bellingham and Lautaro Martinez in less games, the youngster has drawn global praise.

Marcus Rashford ranks second in the Premier League with 33 touches in the opposition box, just beating the Manchester City duo of Semenyo and Haaland who are tied with 31. Reigning Premier League champion, Bukayo Saka rounds out the top five with 30. With all these players in or past their peaks, King has set himself up for not only a tremendous individual campaign but also one that can elevate his teammates in West London.

After making his way through the Fulham academy, Craven Cottage now see their very own perform at a league leading level. King hasn't limited himself to club football, as after performing since making debut in August 2024 he has earnt six caps for the England Under-21 side that has accomplished so much over the past decade. With another recent call up, it doesn't seem long until the Cottager makes his international debut under Tuchel.

King also sit inside the top five rated Under-21 year olds as per WhoScored with a ranking of 6.99. Ranked fourth, he sits above Mainoo and just below new Liverpool defender Jérémy Jacquet.

What's next for Josh King?

A potential late international call up is certainly on the cards after David Ornstein confirmed Palmer, Rashford and Mainoo are all expected to drop out due to load management. Nottingham Forrest midfielder Morgan Gibbs-White has been called up whilst on holiday in Dubai with his family, however the England call up for King is only a matter of time.

Individually, King already has the most Premier League goals in his career but with another 33 games left of the Premier League season. With his red hot form on a brief pause for the international break, King will look to continue his form away to newly promoted Ipswich Town on Saturday 10th October. With all three newly promoted sides in his next three Premier League games, fans can expect a continuance of his form.
