Manchester United defender Leny Yoro was pleased to make his senior international debut for France, and his club's fans were hugely impressed with his performance.
The 20-year-old featured from the start for Les Bleus as they cruised to a 4-1 win over Belgium to conclude their international window this month.
A late call-up to Zinedine Zidane's squad, the youngster performed excellently, earning praise from the manager, as well.
'I Don't Think I Could Have Asked for Anything Better': Yoro Speaks on Impressive France Debut
Leny Yoro spoke to Canal Plus after helping Les Bleus to pick up a vital win over Belgium at the Stade de France.
The centre-back pointed out that it was the perfect setting for his debut, playing on home soil in front of his family, and they got the result to match the occasion.
"I don't think I could have asked for anything better. A home match against Belgium, with my family there. It was a really great game, too. Of course, we would have hoped for a clean sheet, but we got the win, so we’re not going to complain. It was amazing," he said.
Yoro was called up to the senior team after Ibrahima Konate was forced out of the team with a knee injury.
The former Lille man had to be patient for his chance, as he did not play a single minute in any of their first three games.
Jeremy Jacquet's injury opened the door for him, and he was paired with Maxence Lacroix at the back against Belgium.
Yoro played for 90 minutes and had more touches than any other player on the pitch for either side, underlining his influence on proceedings.
Despite playing against Romelu Lukaku, he won all nine duels he contested in the game and created a chance.

France went behind to a Dodi Lukebakio strike after 35 minutes, before a late flurry of goals saw them overturn the situation and win the game.
Desire Doue equalised in the 77th minute before Rayan Cherki added a second four minutes later. Michael Olise completed a late brace to ensure that Belgium returned home empty-handed.
'He's Ready Now': Manchester United Fans Clamour for More Yoro Minutes
Leny Yoro has struggled for regular minutes in the opening weeks of the season at Manchester United.
Head coach Michael Carrick appears to prefer Harry Maguire to the youngster, resulting in zero Premier League starts for the Frenchman this season.
Yoro has started just two games, one in the Carabao Cup and the other in the UEFA Champions League against Sabah FK.
Judging by his performance against Belgium, his lack of regular minutes at club level was pointed out by the fans, who took to social media to ask for him to play more.
One fan stated that they would 'lose it' if Yoro does not start against Tottenham Hotspur this weekend. "If Michael Carrick watches this Yoro performance and then decides to bench him for Maguire against Spurs I'm going to lose it."
Another fan pointed to the Frenchman as a key player who must be trusted against Spurs. "This Leny Yoro performance isn't a surprise to anyone who already knew. He must start for Manchester United vs Tottenham. I don't care who he partners at CB, but Michael Carrick has to start playing him. This defence needs what he offers & adds to it. It is time."
A fan was in awe of the youngster's showing at the back. "I genuinely can't get enough of Leny Yoro's performance tonight. What a PLAYER.🌟"
Another fan urged Carrick to start Yoro ahead of veteran Englishman Maguire. "It's time for Carrick to trust him and start him ahead of Maguire."
A fan pointed out that he is ready to impact games already. "Yoro isn't just the future - he's READY NOW."
Leny Yoro is in his third season at Manchester United, having joined them from Lille in the summer of 2024.
He has played 70 times for the Red Devils, and his stock continues to rise in England and beyond.
