Manchester United cruised to a 4-0 win over Azerbaijani outfit Sabah FK, and a surprise name earned a ton of praise for his performance.
The gulf in class between the two sides was obvious from the jump as United dominated proceedings. Matheus Cunha opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a fine finish before Youri Tielemans produced a moment of brilliance to set up Bruno Fernandes in the 42nd minute.
Benjamin Sesko made it three-nil in the 45th minute, and Lisandro Martinez capitalised on a goalkeeping blunder for the fourth in the 68th minute. This was the Argentine defender's first Champions League goal, and he deserved it after putting in an excellent performance.

Lisandro Martinez Back to his Best in Manchester United Colours
Martinez partnered Leny Yoro in central defence and helped United control the game with his ball-playing abilities out from the back. He also dealt well with a Sabah attack that performed much better than their defenders.
Fresh off the back of losing the World Cup final to Argentina, Martinez will be hoping to stay injury-free after several seasons of fitness struggles. When he's fully fit, he's one of the very best defenders on the ball and will be vital if Michael Carrick's men are to have a successful season.
Martinez scored the easiest goal of his career when he pounced on a goalkeeping clanger. Despite several lows over the years, he remains one of the best signings the club has made since Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement.
Lisandro Martinez Lauded After Sabah Win
Fans were impressed by Martinez's performance, highlighting his contributions. He has headed into another season with a new coach at the helm but his importance in this team is clear.
One fan reacted: "Lisandro Martinez’ poise, composure, and decision making combined with his obvious technical quality should be studied by every centre back around the world. The best in the sport with the ball at his feet."
Another supporter added: "I’d take a fit Lisandro Martinez over any CB in the world."
One fan wrote: "What amazes me about him is… how compensates his height with timing and smart movement when dealing with the ball in the air."
Another responded: "4th goal from Lisandro Martinez. The best CB in the EPL. He has more UCL goals than Viktor Gyokeres and Joao Pedro."
One replied: "Love me a Lisandro Martinez goal."
Martinez and United will know they face completely different opposition this Sunday (September 13th). It's the first Manchester derby of the season when Carrick's side host Manchester City, looking to get back to winning ways in the league after drawing 2-2 against Everton last weekend.
