Tottenham Hotspur defender Pedro Porro has become a transfer target for Real Madrid and Barcelona ahead of the upcoming transfer window.
According to Cadena Ser, the two Spanish clubs are interested in bringing Porro back to Spain but Real Madrid are tipped to make a revenge move.
Barcelona have reportedly enquired about the 27-year-old’s availability and they are believed to be ready to make a move in January or at the end of the season.
Porro, however, recently penned a new long-term contract at Spurs that will keep him at the club until at 2031, with a one-year renewal option.
REAL MADRID PLOT REVENGE TO BEAT BARCELONA TO PORRO
The report revealed that Madrid leadership would push to convince Porro to consider a move to the Spanish capital, ahead of Barca.
The potential move is believed to be a revenge for Real Madrid after the Blancos missed the opportunity to sign Rodri in the summer as the former Manchester City midfielder opted for the Spotify Camp Nou.
The two clubs have not hidden their admiration for the 27-year-old Spain international who is reportedly seeking a return to his home country.
Barcelona are reportedly keen on having Porro build his 2026 World Cup connection with Yamal in Hansi Flick’s team while Real Madrid see him as strong competitor for place with Denzel Dumfries and Trent-Alexander Arnold.
PEDRO PORRO’S FUTURE UNCERTAIN OVER SPURS FORM
Porro has played three Premier League matches this season as Tottenham Hotspur struggle to grab a win in the English top division.
The former Sporting Lisbon star who played a key role in Spain’s World Cup triumph in July, reportedly concerned about his place in Luis de la Fuente’s team.
With Tottenham faced with relegation battle in the first round of the season, Porro is said to be worried that De la Fuente might give priority to players whose clubs are vying for silverware.
Porro joined Spurs on a permanent deal in 2023 after an initial loan from Sporting Lisbon and he has played 120 Premier League games so far with nine goals and 18 assists to his name.
