Paris Saint-Germain have reportedly joined Liverpool and Chelsea in monitoring the situation of Barcelona star Gavi as uncertainty grows over his future.
According to Football Ecology, PSG coach Luis Enrique has asked the leadership of the French Ligue 1 champions to move for the 22-year-old midfielder.
Gavi has struggled over the past few seasons with injuries which led to inconsistent form, making his future at the Spotify Camp Nou uncertain.
The Spain international developed through Barcelona's youth ranks and his most recent contract extension in 2025 is expected to run out in 2030.
Gavi drops in Barcelona's midfield pecking order
The 2022 Golden Boy award winner appears to have fallen out of favour under German manager Hansi Flick.
Gavi has played just four La Liga matches this season and he was an unused substitute in Saturday's 6-1 victory against Alaves.
He faces competition from Rodri, Frenkie de Jong, Fermin Lopez, Pedri, Dani Olmo and Marc Bernal in Barcelona's midfield options.
The 22-year-old's declining playing time has put Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea and Liverpool on alert as they explore ways for a potential move in the upcoming January transfer window.
The three clubs reportedly interested in Gavi are managed by Spanish managers, PSG's Luis Enrique, Chelsea's Xabi Alonso and Liverpool's Andoni Iraola, which could have an effect on his decision to regain top form.
Gavi hailed as fantastic & versatile player
Gavi caught the world's attention when he made his professional debut for Barcelona in 2021 and he was described as a resourceful player by Spain national team coach Luis de la Fuente.
The 22-year-old was part of La Roja's squad that lifted the 2026 FIFA World Cup this summer, where he made two appearances against Cape Verde and Austria.
“Gavi is a player with many resources, versatility, he feels more comfortable inside, but football can take you to other positions,” De la Fuente was quoted by Barca Blaugranes.
“He is a fantastic player, in the process of maturing and we have not yet seen the best version of what he will be in the future. In this process, one of his virtues is his courage and energy.
“He will acquire knowledge about behaviours that are not beneficial to him or the team. We have talked and he knows how important it is. Give me a Gavi before any other type of footballer. He is contagious to all teammates.”
