Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso shared his thoughts on midfielder Moises Caicedo after he made his first start of the season for the club against Bournemouth.
The Ecuador international had been missing from action with a calf problem that he sustained ahead of their Premier League opener against Fulham in August.
He made a brief appearance off the bench against Brighton & Hove Albion, only to come off just 14 minutes later after it looked like he had exacerbated his condition, and Alonso confirmed that he had been brought back too early.
The Spanish tactician got the chance to play Caicedo for the first time this Premier League season, and his impact was instantly felt as he provided significant security to the backline.
Caicedo played for 72 minutes before the manager decided to take him off, introducing Romeo Lavia in his place for the final minutes of the encounter.
