The official merchandise launch comes after Old Trafford's first full pitch replacement in 14 years. The move comes as the club publishes new financial results showing debt remains above £1bn despite record revenue.

The product is listed on the official Manchester United store as the “Manchester United 2026 Old Trafford 7x7cm Pitch Cube”. “It contains a 7cm x 7cm piece of the previous playing surface inside an acrylic cube.
Each cube comes in a black case featuring a picture of Old Trafford. Manchester United markets the product as a keepsake for supporters.
The club says sections of the old pitch were carefully preserved during the summer renovation before being placed in cubes as a memento for fans. The Old Trafford pitch was completely dug up and stripped back to its foundation in June 2026, marking the first full pitch replacement in 14 years.
Manchester Evening News reported that the work was aimed at improving player welfare and drainage.
Season-ticket holders and members were given early access to the turf cubes before the general sale. The product was quickly listed as out of stock on the official Manchester United store. Each cube is priced at £125, equivalent to about $165.

Why Manchester United's £125 Pitch Cube Sale Comes Amid Financial Pressure
The turf-cube launch came as Manchester United released its latest accounts, which recorded £677.6m in revenue for 2025-26, a £22.6 million operating profit, and a £43 million pre-tax loss. Overall debt remained above £1bn.
The club has not disclosed how many cubes were produced, how much of the £125 price covers preservation and packaging, or whether any proceeds will go towards specific projects such as academy or stadium works.
Technical details about the preservation method and how long the turf sample is expected to last inside the cube have also not been provided. The first batch of cubes quickly sold out, despite containing only a small preserved turf sample.
It is designed for display on desks or in cabinets.
