Giggs spoke about the 15-year-old in an appearance on Rio Ferdinand's podcast, Rio Ferdinand Presents, naming him as an example of a player that should not be sent out on loan.
"In my view, JJ is sort of a generational talent.
"He’s got to stay at Man United. There’s no point in going out on loan because he’s at the best place and he’d be dipping in and out of the first team.
"So that experience is invaluable. You know, not only the games and the training, but actually travelling with the team, seeing the expectation of Man United, you’re seeing all sort of, the focus is so huge on Manchester United. You need to get used to that," he said.
Born in October 2010, Gabriel can only sign professional terms at Manchester United from October 2027, when he turns 17 years old.
His age has not stopped him from starring for the club, as he was with Michael Carrick's squad for most of pre-season.
He is regularly involved in first-team training, and could make his official senior debut for the club this season.
Giggs believes the youngster possesses rare, high-level qualities that warrant a carefully managed transition into the first-team fold rather than standard loan pathway.
