Jeremie Aliadiere has named Khvicha Kvaratskhelia as the player he would bring to Arsenal ahead of Kylian Mbappe. The former Arsenal striker rates Mbappe as the best player in the world but has questioned whether his style would fit Mikel Arteta’s squad.

Why Aliadiere Chose Kvaratskhelia Over Kylian Mbappe For Arsenal

Asked to name any player in world football he would sign for his former club, Aliadiere, a StriveAid alumnus, reached for Mbappe first before talking himself out of it.

"I'm a great believer in team balance, a good dressing room, and a healthy dressing room in order to succeed," he told Live Football Tickets. "Straight away, I was going to say Kylian Mbappe because I think he's just the best player in the world."

The hesitation that followed shaped his answer. Aladière questioned whether a player of Mbappé’s profile would fit into the collective structure Arteta has spent years building at the Emirates.

"But would he integrate into that squad and that team? Would he play for the team, or would he be more individual? I'm not too sure, so I don't know whether that would be great."

That reasoning led him to a different name entirely. "So I'd probably go for Kvaratskhelia at PSG because I think he's a team player who works hard," Aliadiere said.

"And, like I said, he plays on the left-hand side, which is somewhere we could have strengthened this summer. I think that would be fantastic."

For Aliadiere, the choice came down to fit. He valued Kvaratskhelia's work rate and willingness to play within the team over simply choosing the biggest individual name.

How Kvaratskhelia Fits The Left-Wing Gap Arsenal Failed To Fill

Aliadiere's choice points to a position Arsenal did not address during the summer window. Gabriel Martinelli and Leandro Trossard both left, leaving the squad without either of its established senior options on the left.

Gabriel Jesus also departed as Arsenal reshaped its attack. Arsenal did not find the replacements they were looking for. Christos Tzolis was the club's only attacking addition, while moves for Morgan Rogers and Vinicius Junior fell through.

Rogers joined Chelsea, while Vinicius signed a new contract at Real Madrid. That left Arteta starting the new season without the natural left winger Arsenal had targeted. Kvaratskhelia fits the profile Aliadiere described.

The Georgian international joined PSG from Napoli in January 2025 for a reported £59 million, becoming the most expensive Georgian footballer in history. He has since won two Champions League titles and a Ligue 1 title with the French club.

There has been no reported approach from Arsenal for Kvaratskhelia.

What Aliadiere Said About Viktor Gyokeres And Arteta's System

Aliadiere also discussed Arsenal's centre-forward situation. Viktor Gyokeres has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football this season despite finishing last season as the club's top scorer.

Aliadiere believes his limited playing time is down to tactical reasons rather than a drop in the striker's quality.

"My only concern is that I just feel we're not playing the style that suits him," he said, pointing to Arsenal's preference for sustained possession and wide build-up over the quick transitions Gyokeres thrives on.

"Mikel always seems to go back to Havertz. Even after Havertz was out for a long time, he brought Havertz back in for the big games because Havertz fits the way we play and the style we play."

His advice to the Swedish international was to stay patient and keep faith in his own quality while the situation resolves itself.
