Two transfer bombshells have emerged involving two of Australia's most promising young talents, with both players reportedly closing in on major moves abroad.
According to Italian journalist Rudy Galetti, Colorado Rapids centre-back Lucas Herrington is in the "final stages of negotiations" over a blockbuster move to an unnamed Premier League club.
The 18-year-old defender enjoyed an impressive World Cup at his first major senior international tournament before the Socceroos' Round of 32 exit to Egypt, attracting interest from several of Europe's top clubs.
Meanwhile, Galetti also reports that A-League wonderkid Akol Akon is closing in on a move from Sydney FC to an undisclosed MLS side. Discussions are said to be ongoing, with a transfer now described as a "concrete possibility" for the 17-year-old winger.

Lucas Herrington Closing In On Premier League Move
After making a club-record move from hometown side Brisbane Roar to MLS club Colorado Rapids in January, the Australian international could be on the verge of a remarkable Premier League switch just six months after arriving in the United States.
Herrington became both Australia's and the MLS' youngest-ever World Cup starter after being named in the Socceroos' XI for their final group-stage match against Paraguay, having previously featured as an unused substitute against Turkey and the United States.

Galetti's second revelation involves young winger Akol Akon, who at just 17 years old has attracted attention following an impressive breakthrough into Sydney FC's first team during the second half of their 2025-26 A-League campaign.
Under manager and former Leicester City and Leeds United player Patrick Kisnorbo, Akon became the youngest-ever player to start an A-League Men finals match at 16 years and 346 days old, while also helping the Sky Blues reach their first A-League Grand Final in five years.
His rapid rise is reflected in his reported valuation, with Sydney FC reportedly close to agreeing a $2 million deal with an unnamed MLS side for the teenager.
