William Saliba has returned to full training with Arsenal, providing Mikel Arteta with a major boost as the defender moves closer to a first appearance of the season.

The French international has been sidelined since aggravating a back injury during the 2026 World Cup semi-final against Spain, with the issue requiring an extended period of rehabilitation.

Saliba had resumed individual training in October, but his return to the first-team group marks another important step in his recovery.

The 25-year-old has reportedly met his recovery milestones, although Arsenal are expected to take a cautious approach before considering him for selection.

His return comes ahead of Wednesday's Champions League trip to Slavia Prague, but it remains unclear whether he will be involved.

Arsenal have coped well in his absence, with summer arrival Ezri Konsa forming an impressive partnership alongside Gabriel Magalhães.

However, Saliba's return will provide Arteta with another major defensive option as the Gunners prepare for a busy run of fixtures.
