Liverpool fans have found a new favourite after academy prospect Lewis Koumas received huge praise for his performance against Tottenham Hotspur.
The young forward led the line for the Reds as they claimed a comfortable 3-1 victory over Tottenham in the Carabao Cup on Tuesday.
Lewis Koumas was named as the Man of the Match after a complete and energetic performance in the third round of a competition he won with the club two years ago.
Still only 20 years old, he made his first start of the season in the game, and was praised by coach Andoni Iraola afterwards for his energy and willingness to work hard for the team.

Liverpool boss Iraola pushed for versatile youngster Koumas to remain at the club this season after he managed to impress with his quality and attitude in pre-season.
With Hugo Ekitike and Federico Chiesa sidelined, Iraola rewarded the Wales international with his first start since 2024, having him lead the line.
Koumas repaid his coach's trust with a fine performance, starting alongside fellow youngsters James McConnell, Trey Nyoni, and Rio Ngumoha.
He lasted for 86 minutes before he was replaced by star striker Alexander Isak, and was named as the Player of the Match.
He set the tone in attack with his relentless running and work rate, and caught the attention of the fans with his display.

LIVERPOOOL FANS REACT TO LEWIS KOUMAS' PERFORMANCE
Social media was agog with praise for Liverpool youngster Lewis Koumas after he helped the Reds to book their place in the fourth round of the Carabao Cup.
The young Welshman did not score or assist, but he won the fans over with his desire to fight for every ball and his willingness to run himself into the ground.
One fan admitted that they were impressed by the 'press machine'. "Lewis Koumas is a press machine, wow, I am impressed."
Another fan pointed out that it is difficult not to like the youngster due to his energy, and stated that he could be a serious asset to the club. "Lewis Koumas brings an energy and positivity which makes it hard not to like him. Hear me out but I think he’s more suited to playing Prem football than Championship. As counterintuitive as that sounds. If he works on end product I think he could be a serious asset."
A fan labelled him a 'beast', wishing that the more established players were as energetic. "If only our superstars had the bottle of this kid. Koumas is a beast."
Another fan revealed that they gave him a standing ovation for his performance. "Lewis koumas im standing up in my living room giving you a round of applause."
A fan pointed out the reason why Iraola loves the young forward. "Can see why Andoni Iraola loves Lewis Koumas so much. The bloke never stops running."
LIVERPOOL ELIMINATE SPURS IN CARABAO CUP ENCOUNTER
Liverpool got the better of Tottenham Hotspur in their Carabao Cup meeting at Anfield, winning 3-1.
The Reds took the lead after 21 minutes, with Alexis Mac Allister casually sweeping a loose ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.
They doubled their advantage through Cody Gakpo nine minutes into the second half, before Conor Gallagher pulled one back for Tottenham.
Iraola's side got a spectacular third goal in stoppage time through Dominik Szoboszlai, who arrowed a vicious half-volley into the top corner from outside the box.
The Reds will be in Wednesday's draw to determine who they will face in the next round of the competition.
